Add a Lobby kiosk to a Location in SV3 Enterprise and set up its check-in and printing options.
Before you start
Visitors use a Lobby kiosk to check in and out while you monitor their status from the Dashboard.
You need Global Admin or Local Admin permissions, and the Location must already exist.
To add a kiosk
- Hover over the Settings icon on the left side of the window.
- Click Locations.
- Find the Location where you want to add a kiosk.
- Click the Kiosks tab.
- Click Add New Kiosk.
- Enter a Name for the kiosk.
- The name appears in your reports, so use one that makes sense for Locations with multiple check-in points — for example, "Front Lobby" or "Administration Desk."
- The name must be unique.
- Configure the kiosk's options, which are described below.
- Click "Save" to create the new kiosk.
Check-in options
Search scheduled records on check-in
Searches for a scheduled visit when a visitor checks in, so they can use a phone number, email address, or QR (Quick Response) code instead of filling out the registration form. Walk-in-heavy Locations may leave this unchecked.
Scan driver's license
Allows visitors to check in by scanning a driver's license. The kiosk uses its rear-facing camera to capture only the name — not the license number, address, or other details.
Note: If you use driver's license scanning, don't cover the kiosk's rear-facing camera with a kiosk enclosure.
Allow check out
Lets visitors check out by scanning the QR code on their badge. A Check Out option appears on the kiosk's welcome screen; tapping it switches the kiosk to its front-facing camera to scan the code.
Photo and printing options
Visitor Photo Options — Sets whether the kiosk uses the front or rear camera to take visitor photos.
Printer type — Sets the type of printer the kiosk uses.
IP address — Sets the static IP address of the printer.
Paper type — Sets the type of paper the printer uses.
Dashboard printing — Adds the kiosk to the Dashboard's list of kiosks you can print to, so you can reprint a badge after a visitor checks in.
Result
The kiosk appears in the Kiosks list for the Location and is ready for visitor check-in.
