Learn what each visitor status means and which status a visitor can move to next.
A visitor's status on the Dashboard shows where they are in the check-in process. For example, a visitor whose visit is in the future is Scheduled. A visitor who has received a Visitor Badge is Checked In or Checked Out.
Each visitor has one status at a time. That status can change, but only to certain other statuses, depending on the current one. Changing statuses is how you move visitors through check-in and check-out in SV3 Enterprise.
Who can change a visitor's status
These roles can change a visitor's status at their Location:
- Receptionist
- Security Officer
- Local Admin
- Global Admin, at any Location, without holding a role there
Only a Security Officer, Local Admin, or Global Admin can approve or deny a visitor who is Pending Approval.
Visitor statuses
A visitor can have one of six statuses:

- Scheduled: The visit is scheduled for a future date or time.
- Pending Approval: The visitor was screened against the Watchlist and a potential match was found. A Security Officer, Local Admin, or Global Admin must approve or deny the visitor before the visit can continue.
- Checked In: The visitor has arrived, checked in, and received a Visitor Badge.
- Checked Out: The visitor has left and been checked out.
- Cancelled: The visit was scheduled and then cancelled.
- Denied: A Security Officer, Local Admin, or Global Admin denied a visitor who was Pending Approval. The visitor receives a notification that their visit was cancelled and that they should contact their host for more information.
How statuses change
Each status can change only to certain other statuses:
- Scheduled can change to Checked In or Cancelled.
- Pending Approval can change to Scheduled, Checked In, Denied, or Cancelled.
- Checked In can change to Checked Out.
- Checked Out can change back to Checked In.
