Connect SV3 Enterprise to Microsoft Azure Active Directory (Azure AD) so users are added to and removed from SV3 Enterprise automatically.
Before you start
- You must be a Global Admin.
- Have your Azure AD Directory ID, Application ID, and Secret Key ready. In the Microsoft Entra admin center, these are the Directory (tenant) ID, the Application (client) ID, and the client secret Value. See how to find your Directory ID, register SV3 Enterprise as an app in Azure, and create a client secret.
- To map groups to Locations by name, set up Directory Platform Sync Groups for each Location first.
- To map groups by Location Key, give each Location a Location Key. See how to edit Location details.
- Building Intelligence recommends completing these steps from your Active Directory server.
Note: Microsoft has renamed Azure Active Directory to Microsoft Entra ID. This article uses the name shown in SV3 Enterprise.
Steps
- Point to the Settings icon on the left side of the window, and then click Integrations.
- Click Configure for Microsoft Azure Active Directory.
- In Directory ID, enter your Directory ID.
- In Application ID, enter your Application ID.
- In Secret Key, enter your Secret Key. You can't save the connection without it.
- Click SAVE.
- Under AD Synchronization Settings, select a sync method from the drop-down list:
- All Locations: adds every Azure AD user to every Location.
- Map Group to Location Name: adds the users in each Azure AD group to the Location with the same name, with the Standard User role.
- Map Group to Location Key: adds the users in each Azure AD group to the Location whose Location Key matches the group name, with the Standard User role.
- Click the slider to turn on daily synchronization.
- Click SAVE.
- At the top of the page, click Sync Now.
Result
SV3 Enterprise imports users from Azure AD and sends you an email when the import is complete. After that, the sync runs once a day.
