Set up Directory Platform Sync Groups

Link a Location to one or more Microsoft Azure Active Directory (Azure AD or Entra AD) groups so the users in those groups sync to that Location.

Before you start

• You must be a Global Admin.
• You need access to the group in the Microsoft Azure (or Entra) portal. 
• Set up sync groups for each Location that syncs users from Azure AD, before you connect SV3 Enterprise to Azure AD.

Steps

In SV3 Enterprise

1. Point to the Settings icon on the left side of the window, and then click Locations.
2. Select the Location.
3. Next to Location Details, click the Edit (pencil) icon.
4. In Location, enter the Location name exactly as the group is named in Azure AD. 
5. Click Save.
6. Click the Options tab.
7. Under Directory Platform Sync Groups, click Configure Groups.
8. Enter the name of each directory group, one per field. Any users in these groups sync to this Location.
9. Click Save.

In Microsoft Azure (or Entra)

10. Open the group's Properties.
11. In Group name, enter the Location name exactly as it appears in SV3 Enterprise.
12. Click Save.

Result

The Location and the Azure AD group share a name, and users in the listed groups sync to the Location when SV3 Enterprise syncs with Azure AD.
