Azure AD sync can now keep users who do not exist in your Azure AD tenant.
What's new
You can now set Azure AD sync to preserve application users who are not present in the Azure AD tenant. With the option on, sync continues to create and update users as normal, but stops removing local-only accounts, service accounts, and any other user deliberately kept out of Azure AD.
Who this affects
Global Admins running Azure AD synchronization, particularly at organizations that maintain service accounts or contractor accounts outside Azure AD.
What you need to do
The setting lives in the Azure AD integration configuration. Turn it on before your next sync if you rely on local-only accounts.
